About the trip:  This is a 21+ event.  Join BPO and Outsiders Chicago for River tubing on Sunday, August 11th. You’ll enjoy a scenic, lazy, and fun trip floating down the river. Our tubing journey lasts approximately 3 hours, giving you the best river tubing experience. We'll be tubing the Tippecanoe River in Winamac, Indiana. We'll have plenty of drinks provided for you on the float.

We'll meet up at Union Park Field House to kick off the day. We'll have beers and other beverages for you to enjoy on this adventure! Feel free to bring beverages of your own on the trip too. 

YOU'LL NEED TO BRING WATER SHOES/AQUA-SOCKS. EVERYONE MUST HAVE SOMETHING ON THEIR FEET! Please bring your own lunch. 

What to expect: We will meet at Union park No later than 9:00 AM. Be prepared to check in and sign liability waivers. The bus will be leaving at 9:15AM SHARP. The ride to the river will be about 2.5 hours long. We will have snacks and beers/ seltzers for you to enjoy on the bus and on the river. Feel free to bring your own snacks, alcoholic and N/A beverages. If you are doing this please bring your own cups. Please eat a good big breakfast and bring your own lunch. We will not be making any stops along the way. To be best prepared please see the packing list provided. I will bring 1 waterproof bluetooth speaker. if you have one bring it too. 

When we arrive at the river we will pick up our floating tubes and floating coolers. YOU'LL NEED TO BRING WATER SHOES/AQUA-SOCKS. EVERYONE MUST HAVE SOMETHING ON THEIR FEET! You are able to put your food/drinks inside of the coolers or leave stuff on the bus. We will have 2-3 clusters of tubes tied together. If you want to be tied to a particular person or group please let us know so we can make sure you are together. Each cluster will have one cooler to store your drinks and food. 

The float lasts up to 4 hours depending on how fast the river is flowing. When we finish their will be port o potties to change in and picnic tables to wait and eat. When we all finish changing and drying off, we will load the bus to head back to Union park in Chicago. 

Lunch Suggestions: Last time I ate half my lunch on the bus right before we got off then the other half after we got back on the bus to head home to chicago. Some people ate PBJ sandiwches, deli sandwiches, and salads.

Can I drive myself/ Meet you there? No, we do not have the capacity for extra coordination.

Where is the closest CTA Station? Union park is accessible via Green and Pink line trains and the Ashland and Madison buses! 

Is there parking near union park? Yes, plenty of street parking arrive early just in case you need to circle the block.

Why do we have to pay? We have multiple outside vendors involved that need to be paid for their services so we are not able to offer this outing for free. We were able to pay for the bus so we did not pass that cost on to you. We do not make any profits off our events. What you pay goes to the tubing company and Outsiders Chi.  Our group hikes will remain free. 

Can I or a friend tag along without a ticket? No, this is a ticketed event we only have about 30 spots left. With no space to increase capacity, like we have done in the past. You are able to purchase up to 10 tickets per transaction.
