Burrito Bowls

How To Make an Easy Burrito Bowl at Your Campsite!

This is one of the easiest recipes you can make while camping. This is Kam's favorite thing that I make in the outdoors (besides the lamb chops, I'll drop that recipe later). This is also my favorite because this recipe's ingredients can be modified into taco salads, burritos, burrito bowls, street tacos, nacho's, and even walking tacos with your favorite chips! but lets dive into the burrito bowl recipe for now tho!

This recipe requires a camp stove. We used our Eureka Ignite camp stove (not an affiliate link). You will also need a cast iron skillet, knife and spatchilla.

Ingredients:

1lb Ground turkey, chicken, or beef

Trader Joe's taco seasoning

onion

bell pepper

roma tomato

avocado

lettuce

Shredded cheese of your choice

cooking oil

canned jalapeno

Dorito flavor of your choice (cool racnch over here)

Please do not get on here talking about authenticity, we are camping KAREN!

Step 1: preheat your caption skillet, I wanna hear that thang sizzle when you drop the meat on it!

Step 2: add a tiny bit of oil to the pan then add your diced peppers, and onions to the hot pan. Let it cook for about 2 mins before you add the meat.

Step 3: add your ground meat to the pan with the onions and peppers mix well and brown your meat.

Step 4: when the meat is almost done add the Trader Joes seasoning to the meat. sometimes I add a little "21 seasoning salute" seasoning from Trader Joes to add a little razzle dazzle. Somebody (not of our descent) said this seasoning is spicy... but I don't think so, and it is not advertised as so either.

Step 5: add about a quarter cup of water to the pan and turn down the heat to let the mixture simmer. cover it until liquid has mostly evaporated.

Step 6: serve cooked ground meat over a bed of lettuce or even a bagged salad

Step 7: top with chopped tomatoes, avocado, and shredded cheese. Then crunch up some of those Doritos and throw them on top like croutons. And for a little extra funk, drizzle some of that jalapeño juice over the top!

Step 8 (optional): throw all of the meat, cheese, and veggies into a Doritos bag and make it a walking taco! ENJOY!
